So I’ve been noodlin’ around with getting an easier way to update the comics for Bob and Emily DeJesus’ new AiCandy site. I’m trying to get everything so it’ll be able to be updated easily by anyone. Translation: A content management system for their updatable sections, places like news blurbs, the online store, and, most importantly, Bob’s webcomic, How to Loathe Drawing Manga Style. It’s been interesting having to get back into doing some programming that I’ve never really done before. I’m doing it in PHP using a mySQL database. Granted, none of this is overly foreign to me. I was doing this type of stuff at my contract job in Chicago and I’ve done it in other places before. This is the first time I’ve done it in PHP though. It’s more just the planning out of what information I need to put into the database that is going to take all the time. The rest is relatively easy. I have some basic test pieces written and working, so now it’s just the time consuming part.

The nice thing about this is that I’ll be able to take the code and apply it here. That’ll make doing updates much easier.

In other news, I did start another semi-side-project this week. It’s a little thing I’m calling Tekitsune’s Foxtail. It’s a non-sequential comic strip following a character losely based on myself named Kit, a half-human, half-fox character, that just runs through some random bit of life that have been twisted up a bit. It’s currently not something that has a set release schedule. It’ll be something that gets updated when I have something doodled that can go up. Right now, the first strip is up. There will also be blog entries happening over on the site there too. So if you want to see what’s happening over there, go ahead and poke you head over to the site at http://www.tekitsune.com/.
